(Casper, Wyo.)–An action to suspend Ordinance No. 15-13 will be presented at a Special Council Meeting on September 8, 2015, at 4:30 p.m. in the Council Chambers.
Ordinance No. 15-13 allows smoking in certain private establishments in Casper. Because of the Wyoming Supreme Court’s decision concerning the referendum for City
Ordinance No. 15-13 the Referendum Committee verified the residency information of certain signers.
As a result of this verification, Casper’s City Clerk has certified that the necessary number of signatures was obtained to make Ordinance No. 15-13 subject to a referendum vote.
Therefore, Casper City Council must suspend Ordinance No. 15-13 and will then have the option of either repealing the ordinance or putting the question to a vote of Casper’s citizens.
