
(Casper, Wyo.) – On Tuesday, September 15th at approximately 6:50 am Casper Police Department responded to a disturbance at A Street. Court records indicate that Dispatch advised that a female was breaking out a window with a 2×4 board, later identified as a 1×6 at the residence.
Upon arrival officers made contact with a woman, identified as Dakota Dodge standing at the door to the residence, standing in glass and yelling into the house. Officers also made contact with the residence of the house.
Officers spoke with one of the residence who reported that Dodge had just been released from jail that day and they went to the Sandbar. The resident reported that the two had returned to the residence and had been arguing all night at the residence a from court records. The male resident reported that he had tried to get Dodge out of the house several times and Dodge refused. Reports indicate that the male physically removed Dodge from the residence and she returned with a 2×4 and began hitting the window next to the front door.
When Dodge broke the window the male came outside the residence and Dodge struck him with the 2×4. It was reported in court records that at some point during the altercation Dodge stabbed the male with a pencil. Officers on scene observed a piece of lead from a pencil stuck in the male’s head.
Officers then spoke with Dodge who reported the following in court records, she was kicked out of the residence by the male, and was only wearing a shirt and underwear. She told officers that she went to another house down the block and they gave her pair of pants. She then returned to the previous residence and wanted her property. She broke the window with a 2×4 and hit the male when he came out of the residence, from court records.
Officers transported the two to Wyoming Medical Center for their injuries and investigators spoke with Dodge a second time where she reported the following,
She stated that her boyfriend, the male,and her had several drinks at the Sandbar the previous night. The two slept together that night until an alarm went off at 6:00 am and the two began to argue. She stated that the male did not want her to go anywhere and that he hit her with a closed fist and started to choke her. She told officers that he grabbed her hair and drug her out of the residence. She stated that she went to another residence, talked to a male and returned to the previous residence where the male charger her and she grabbed the 2×4. She swung the 2×4 at the male, missed and hit the window, and continued to argue with the male.
Casper Police Officers logged the evidence of the incident and arrested and charged Dodge with aggravated assault and domestic battery.
