At approximately 2:01 am Casper Police Officers responded to the area of E 3rd Street and S Lincoln Street for a report of a prowler. The RP informed dispatch that someone wast trying to get into the apartment. A male was trying to open the windows and was now trying to get in through the back door.

According to reports, once on scene, officers located the alley on S Lincoln Street between 3rd and 4th Street. Officers pulled in and began checking the area and were contacted by a male who advised that he was the one who called and he believed the unknown male was inside the apartments.

Officers went into the suspected apartment and the RP advised that the male came in through the back window and was currently in his father’s bedroom. The RP showed officers where the bedroom was, and after entering officers observed a male, later identified as Keith M Island, lying on a mattress and covered with a blanket. Officers announced their presence and Island did not respond, according to reports.  Officers pulled the blanket away and again announced their presence. Island then awoke and asked what was going on.

Officers observed Island to have dried blood all over his face, arms and hands, and clothing. Officers asked Island what he was doing in the residence and he advised that it was his girlfriend’s house. Island could not give his girlfriend’s name and did not know where she was. Officers observed Island to have glassy/watery eyes, slurred speech, and the odor of an alcoholic beverage on his person. Officers asked Island about his injuries but he continued to advise that he fell, according to court records.

Officers checked with the RP who reported that he did not know the male. He stated that he was asleep and was awakened by Island banging on the doors trying to get in.
