(Casper, Wyo.) –On Saturday, September 26, the Platte River Revival along with the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) and its other partners will host the ninth annual Platte River Revival Volunteer Day.

Organizers expect over 600 volunteers will help remove litter and debris from the river and its banks, wire-wrap trees to protect them from wildlife including beaver and deer, and remove Russian olives.

“The people of Casper have shown a tremendous amount of support in restoring the North Platte River and have made this the largest National Public Lands Day event in the nation. We are proud of the Casper community and look forward to their hands-on restoration help on Saturday,” stated Public Information Officer Anna Rosburg.

The Platte River Revival Volunteer Day is the hands-on restoration aspect of the Platte River Revival Restoration Project. Registration is at Mike Lansing Field from 8:00 a.m. until 9:00 a.m.

Volunteers will then move to different locations to work until approximately noon.  Anyone interested in volunteering is encouraged to pre-register at www.platteriverrevival.com. Volunteers may also register at Lansing Field on Saturday September 26th.

Citizens and visitors should be advised that the Platte River Parkway will have people and equipment on it on the morning of the 26th.
