A Casper woman is facing multiple felony crimes after she allegedly burglarized a home and a car and conspired to forge a stolen check. Crystal Guseman, 28, was arrested yesterday on charges of Burglary, Auto Burglary, Forgery and Conspiracy.

The crimes were discovered after police were called yesterday to the Check Cashing Center for a report of a potentially forged check that a trio of individuals had attempted to cash. It was made out for $750.

Through extensive investigation and interviews with those involved, police learned that Guseman with another woman had burglarized a home in Casper a couple weeks ago on 13th Street, the affidavit states. Guseman told police that they entered the home through a rear window when no one was home. The house in question was known to Guseman after she had sold a table to current resident earlier, and she knew he was out of town. The pair stole food, including cereal and ramen noodles, tools, chocolate, and laundry detergent, court documents state. She also located vehicle keys and searched through the vehicle for anything of value. Among all the stolen items was a single check.

On Wednesday of this week, the financial situation of Guseman and her roommates led them to come up with the idea of using the check to get some money. Guseman filled out the check in a friend’s name, and another friend forged the check owner’s signature.

It is unclear at this time whether or not the others involved in the scheme have been charged for their rolls.
