
(Casper, Wyo.) – A 48-year-old Oregon woman was charged Thursday afternoon with a single count of theft after she allegedly stole a wallet and debit card left on the rear bumper of a vehicle on June 8, 2015.
The reporting party told officers that she had written the PIN number on the back of the card and several hundred dollars had been withdrawn from the account in the Hilltop area. Officers were able to obtain video footage from the nearby Albertsons and Hilltop Laundromat, which they distributed to local media outlets Wednesday, June 17.
Within hours, detectives received several tips identifying the two woman, the one using the card and charged with theft as, Nancy McNatt, according to the affidavit filed in Circuit Court.
McNatt and her sister, both from Oregon, had been tent camping at local RV parks as they were reportedly homeless, according to the affidavit. They were staying at the Women’s Mission when McNatt was arrested. They were reportedly kicked out of one of the RV parks for excessive partying, according to statements from RV park employees.
A $500 cash or surety bond was ordered in the case.
She told officers that she found the wallet near 12th Street and Country Club, where she drove down the road and used the card to purchase items and make the withdrawal, according to the affidavit.
She reportedly charged and withdrew $630.44 worth of cash and merchandise, according to the report.
