A Casper man is facing recommended charges of Drug Possession and Child Endangerment, after police say they were called to assist the Department of Family Services for a welfare check.
According to an arrest affidavit, Gade Oldaker of Casper was arrested on the 800 block of North Beech Street, and was booked into jail at approximately 5:30 pm, April 4th, 2018.
Officers report responding to the area to assist DFS with the welfare check, and to obtain a urinalysis for Oldaker.
Police and DFS employees contacted Oldaker at the front door of the residence, and it is reported that Oldaker allowed them inside. Police report observing that Oldaker was exhibiting physical behavior consistent with methamphetamine use.
Police say that Oldaker initially denied that he was under the influence of methamphetamine, but upon further questioning Oldaker told police that he had used a day prior. Later officers say that Oldaker admitted to using earlier that morning, and then admitted to using that afternoon as well.
Oldaker is said to have been searched and is accused of being in possession of three un-used hypodermic syringes and two baggies containing suspected methamphetamine.
Further investigation found that three juveniles were also living in the residence at the time of police contact. The Children were identified and were given to the custody of family.
Oldaker faces three recommended counts of Child Endangerment and one recommended charge of Possession of a Controlled Substance- Methamphetamine.
All of those cited or arrested are presumed innocent until convicted in a court of law. Charges are subject to change following official filings from the Natrona County District Attorney’s Office.
