
(Casper, Wyo.) – A 31-year-old Wyoming man has been sentenced for reckless endangering after hitting a man on I-25 while he fixed his broken down vehicle near mile marker 177, after pleading guilty to the amended charge on March 17, 2015.
Chaney Jones has been sentenced to six months in the Natrona County Detention Center for reckless endangering, he was additionally ordered to pay $133,000 in restitution for the medical bills of 54-year-old Ricardo Aguilar-Colorado.
This incident occurred while on probation for another motor vehicle incident, driving the wrong way on Wyoming Boulevard with two children in the vehicle.
“Words cannot express the remorse I feel… I never should have left in the first place,” said Jones during his sentencing hearing. “If I didn’t feel some kind of remorse, I don’t know what kind of monster I would be.”
He was remanded to the custody of the Natrona County Sheriff’s Office to serve out his six-month term.
