
The Cheyenne Police Department has released details regarding the stabbing death of a woman, and the subsequent arrest of another woman in the case.
According to a release from the Cheyenne Police Department, investigators believe that an altercation between the two women is what led to the stabbing.
Officials have identified the deceased as 45-year-old Jennifer Pratt of Cheyenne. The suspect has been identified as 46-year-old Tanya Pearson, also of Cheyenne.
A statement from the Cheyenne P.D. says that the incident occurred in the 1700 block of Ames Avenue in the state capital, on the east side of Martin Luther King Park, at approximately 3:45 pm, April 16.
Pearson, and Pratt are believed to have known each other prior to the incident. Police say that the two women met at MLK Park where they were involved in an argument, during which a knife was introduced.
Pratt suffered knife wounds and died from her injuries before officers responded.
Pearson has been arrested for homicide. This case remains under investigation by the Cheyenne Police Department.
