
The Natrona County Sheriff’s Office has confirmed that a fugitive from the Casper Re-entry Center has been identified as one of the deceased in a fatal California crash.
NCSO officials say that 37-year-old Jerome Dunks was involved in a fatal crash in Oakley California,on April 17th,2018.
Officials say that Dunks was serving a sentence at C.R.C. for an original charge of Wrongful Receipt or Disposing of Property out of Hot Springs County.
Dunks was reported at approximately 8:20 pm, on April 7th, 2018, after failing to return from his work release.
Casper Police also say that Dunks is believed to have test driven a 2012 gray Honda Civic, 4-door on the Afternoon of Monday, April 9th. The suspect then failed to return with the vehicle.
According to a statement from the City of Oakley, California, the fatal crash occurred at approximately 5:10 am on April 17th.
Oakley city officials say that officers responded to a major injury collision. Upon arrival, staff discovered two vehicles with major damage, a Honda Civic and a Chevy SUV.
The statement says that the adult male driver of the Honda Civic and his adult female passenger sustained fatal injuries.
The driver of the SUV was injured and transported to an area hospital.
The driver of the Honda was identified as Dunks.
The Honda is believed to have entered an intersection against a red light, traveling north in a southbound lane, before colliding with the SUV in the intersection.
The deceased female passenger has been identified as Erica Pearce a 34 year-old female from Montana. Ms. Pearce’s last known address was a minimum security detention facility in Missoula, Montana. At the time of her death, Ms. Pearce had a warrant for her arrest for leaving the detention facility.
