Casper native Taven Bryan 29th pick in NFL Draft, goes to Jacksonville

Taven Bryan, a graduate of Natrona County High School and native of Casper, will be headed to play for the Jacksonville Jaguars, after he was the 29th pick in the NFL draft, Thursday Night.

Bryan earned state honors as an offensive and defensive lineman as an NCHS senior.

He redshirted for the Florida Gators in 2014 before taking a reserve role for 12 games in 2015. As a sophomore, Bryan started two of 13 games played, making 17 tackles, three for loss, and one sack.

NFL scouts showed interest during Bryan’s junior season, after he started all 11 games of that season. He posted 40 tackles, six for loss, and four sacks.

Florida ended last season at 4-7.
