Casper Police have arrested a woman, after they say she was reportedly huffing compressed air-duster at a public bus stop.

According to a Casper Police arrest affidavit, Glenda Rae Gotcher, age 47, was arrested during the late morning hours of April 30th. She was booked in to the Natrona County Detention Center on recommended charges of Unlawful Use of a Toxic Substance, Interference With a Police Officer, and a hold on a criminal warrant.

Police say that they received reports, just after 11:00 am, Monday, of a female at a bus stop who was sucking air from compressed air-duster cans. Officers cite multiple reports were received about the woman, with at least one saying that the woman was “tipping over.” Officers also say that the woman had been laying face-down in the dirt, near the bus stop.

Police made contact with a woman, matching the description of the suspect, who was exiting a home near the bus stop. Police identified the woman as Gotcher.

In the affidavit, officers describe Gotcher as appearing to have dirt on her face. They also not that Gotcher had slurred speech that progressively got better, which officers cited as a symptom of abusing air-duster, for intoxicating affect.

Gotcher denied using the air duster, saying that reporting parties likely mistook her nicotine vaporizer for a air-duster can. She further is reported to have advised officers that her face wasn’t dirty, but was covered in cracker crumbs. Gotcher further denied having laid on the ground, near the bus stop.

Gotcher also reportedly gave officers a false name, during their initial contact. After investigation police were able to match the suspect with a picture of Gotcher that was in law enforcement systems. Gotcher was noted to have a local warrant for her arrest, and police say she had numerous prior involvements with local law enforcement.

Later, officers report that the resident of a nearby home supplied police with a can of air-duster that allegedly belonged to Gotcher. When police received the can, they say that Gotcher admitted to huffing the substance.

Gotcher was arrested and transported to the Natrona County Detention Center without further reported incident.
