Pacheco called for prayer, in the wake of the incident. Identifying himself as a “man of faith,” Pacheco called for the faithful communities in Casper to pray.
“As a man of faith and like many other people in Casper, I would suggest prayer for our city,” Pacheco said in a written statement. “I am asking those of faith to join with me to pray for healing for our injured officer and healing for our community.”
“Yesterday’s events have shaken all of us,” Pacheco continued. “I hope we can come together in prayer to support one another.”
The Casper Police Department is also asking for assistance from the community. The CPD has identified a GoFundMe page, set up by the injured officer’s colleagues, that will fund expenses for the officer and his family.
