
The Casper Police Deparment will be hosting an event, honoring two officers who were involved in a deadly police shooting on May 6th, 2018.
Patrol Officer Randi Garrett and Officer Jacob Carlson will be honored at an event, Monday July 30th, at David Street Station in Casper.
The event will kick off at 6:00 pm with Music from The Barrel House Band, yard games, and food trucks
At 7:00 pm, the CPD says that Police Chief Keith McPheeters will conduct a special ceremony honoring Officers Carlson and Garrett.
The police-involved shooting occurred in early May, after a man fired at Carlson and Garrett, who were called to check on a vehicle in a vacant lot. The officers returned fire and killed the suspect.

During the gunfire, Officer Carlson was hit by several shots, and suffered life-threatening injuries. Carlson survived the incident, and was released from the hospital in mid-June, after several surgeries at Wyoming Medical Center.
The shooter, identified as David P. Wolosin, 38, was killed in the exchange.
