
A 69-year-old man has died in a motorcycle crash on I-90 near the community of Sheridan. This according to information released by the Wyoming Department of Transportation.
The incident is under investigation by the Wyoming Highway Patrol. WHP investigators say that Coy Collins, a resident of Oregon, has been identified as the deceased. The crash is said to have happened just after 7:00 am on May 8th, 2018.
A WYDOT crash summary says that Coy was on a motorcycle, westbound on I-90 the motorcycle left the roadway to the right, near mile post 31.
After leaving the roadway, the motorcycle is believed to have struck a guardrail. This is believed to have caused the rider to lose control of the motorcycle. The motorcycle laid down at which point the rider became separated from the motorcycle.
The rider was wearing a helmet, leather jacket, and leather chaps. The helmet was severely damaged on the right rear side. Officials also say the leather gear was heavily scarred from the asphalt.
Coy was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics.
