
(Casper, Wyo.) – Katherine Sue Strom, 47, former director of the Wyoming Youth Sports Association has been placed on probation for larceny during a sentencing hearing in District Court Tuesday morning.
Strom admitted to the theft of over $13,000 in March 2015. She allegedly made unauthorized charges using the club account for personal uses. Court and account records show that the total amount in fraudulent charges $13,582.93. Over $12,000 of the monies was allegedly paid to Strom and issued by Strom from the club’s account as a form a “backpay” from her time as the director of WYSA. The fraudulent charges started as far back as 2009 where she was allegedly compensating herself, according to the affidavit.
She will serve a term of one to five-years of supervised probation as per the terms of deferment by the State Statute. She had to pay the $13,582.93, plus additional court fees following the sentencing hearing.
