(Casper, Wyo.) – Rotartact of Casper, a young professional’s network, and Bike Safe Wyoming have purchased and donated three bike racks to Downtown Casper.

One of these bike racks has been installed in front of Metro Coffee Company on South David Street, one has been installed in front of the Wonder Bar on South Center Street, and the third, has been installed in the parking garage at the Center Street entrance.

“The goal has been to increase the options for cyclists when they ride downtown. Rather than parking their bikes and locking them to street signs and lamp posts, we wanted to have a designated bike rack that was in the heart of downtown. People can use the parking garage to safely park their cars, and we wanted cyclists to feel like they have that same option and that everyone is viewed as equal,” said John Kirlin of Bike Safe Wyoming.

The bike racks are a wonderful asset to the community. They come at a great time as the Casper community pushes for bicycle safety and additional bike routes. The City’s bikes and pathways plan will add more than 100 miles of bike routes to our community over the next several years.

The bike racks, the addition of the Public Restrooms in November of 2014, and the ongoing efforts to build the events-driven public plaza are all steps that will continue to improve downtown Casper for the community.

“This is only one small step in moving towards a goal. A goal that will make downtown more desirable to the community. We are grateful to have been able to assist in this project,” said Lisa Burridge of Lisa Burridge and Associates Real Estate.

Thanks to a collaborative effort between John Kirlin and Bike Safe Wyoming, Rotaract, Lisa Burridge and Associates Real Estate Team, Horner Construction and the City of Casper for their participation in this great addition to the community.
