(Natrona County, Wyo.) -Fellow Oiler, Yalonda Metzler Kaufman captured and shared some photos of the Alcova ‘Mini Tornado’ destruction.
It was reported earlier today that Natrona County Sheriff’s Office responded to 22000 Reclamation Drive near Alcova Elementary School for a report of a possible tornado sighting at approximately 8:32 pm Monday night.
The Bureau of Reclamation received a call from a male who stated that there was a mini tornado downstream from the bridge. He told officials that the mini tornado had possibly picked up a structure.
Deputies arrived in the area and located the male at the Gros Venture Storage units. Storage units one through twelve had been blown into the North Platte River according to reports. Deputies did not see any debris floating in the river and they did not see sheen on the water indciating a possible petroleum leak or contamination.
Natrona County Emergency Management and the Wyoming Game and Fish Department were notified of the incident.
