Thanks to a local reader for sharing these images from yesterday’s lockdown at Casper College. The college went on lockdown after 24-year-old Dakota Hawkins allegedly pulled a gun on his girlfriend during a dispute and was soon spotted carrying the gun on campus. Multiple Natrona County Schools went on lockout, meaning class went on as normal but no one was allowed in or out of the buildings, during the incident. As of this morning, there is no word from Casper Police as to whether or not Hawkins has been caught.
During the lockout, the submitter tells us that people in the room barricaded windows and a former police officer and a veteran guarded the door to the room.
“We are all on the floor but looks like he moved from campus to jr high. Such a surreal feeling,” Sally Patton told OC yesterday from inside the Wyoming Prevention Management Organization Conference on campus at Casper College.
