Product liability law is designed to help an injured person recover damages from a manufacturer or merchant. Over the past several decades, these laws have dramatically changed the business outlook on product design, manufacture, and sales. Safety and reliability are now intertwined with a legal approach to manufacturing and sales. This webinar will provide you with a general understanding of the issues underlying product liability law, including product defects, types of defects, theories of recovery, and strict liability.
Matt Wilson, Dean of the University of Akron School of Law in Ohio, will present this program. Dean Wilson’s legal experience includes tort law, international business, commercial litigation, intellectual property law, Internet law, employment law, and international dispute resolution. In addition, he has business experience working for a large electronics manufacturer, hydrological and meteorological instruments maker, multinational medical device companies, and several educational institutions.
This seminar will cover legal concepts as they apply to the design, manufacture and sale processes of products. You will learn how to spot issues related to defending products from a legal perspective and recognize the importance of potential liability in terms of product manufacture and sales.
