(Casper, Wyo.)-Today many Thunderbirds, young and old started the Fall Semester for another great semester of books, coffee, all night papers, finals and a bit of college shenanigans.
With school back in session, and our NCSD kiddos going back next Wednesday, the Casper Police Department has stepped up their game to ensure the safety of all of our residents.
Casper Police Sergeant Scott Jones reported this morning that they currently have two school resource officers speaking with home owners near school zones to help them with their needs as school begins to shape up.
“We will be bringing in five to ten more officers to help us enforce school zone speed limits, and to monitor smoking, drinking, loitering and any sort of ‘tom foolery’ going on around the neighborhoods in school zones.”
Sgt Jones also urged residents around NCHS and KWHS to consider attaining Restricted Parking to alleviate students parking and blocking their driveways.
For more information about restricted parking permits or to learn more about back to school safety, contact the Casper Police Department at the non-emergency number (307) 235-8278.
